Shingeki no Kyojin (Known as Attack on Titan in the west) is a big media fad here at the moment. I was super surprised to learn that my fifth graders were really into it since it's a pretty violent/scary show.

But by this point it's friggin everywhere. You can buy shaving razors where the ad is a bunch of the SnK kids shaving a giant's beard. It's pretty novel.
